Well I got FedEx confirmation that my Yamato:2199 BluRay arrived at the house this morning. Those of you who know me, know just how excited I am. I am very excited that Bandai Visual has decided to have English subtitles to every bluray release of Yamato from now on.

Another Space Battleship Yamato: 2199 Blu-Ray gets released.. this time on June 30th 2012.. It is bittersweet since that is the one year anniversary where I almost lost my Husband to a Motorcycle accident. I am fortunate and super blessed that I have my Husband still with me and that my love can watch what I love with me when this gets released. I dont think I could ever enjoy the new releases of Yamato with out my beloved Husband.

Tomorrow is the annual RITES OF SPRING RUGBY TOURNAMENT hosted by our team. It is a weekend of well, rugby. So SNL has played a few sketched in recent months named "J-POP AMERICAN FUN TIME NOW" which pokes fun at a particular set/type of Anime fans.

I usually do not watch SNL but a friend e-mailed the link to the 3 sketches and reading some articles about how some folks were "Offended" and found it "racist" So I took a gander at watching them.

And as someone who has gone to his fair share of sci-fi and anime conventions, I have to say that this is scary accurate in the portrayal of certain Anime Fans/Otaku and Japanophiles.

It's been my experience that a huge chunk of these fans, though well meaning and their hearts are in the right place (most of the time) tend to be highly ignorant of actual Japanese culture, customs and language.

Some think they are the over all expert of things Japanese and act arrogant around others, spewing their douchbaggery of psuedo knowlege regarding Japan. But usually someone like me puts them in their place by knocking them down a few notches.

So after watching these three videos (the links should lead you to them) I did not find it racist, nor was I offended. I found it funny. because I have seen it in real life. Then again every fandom has "That Fan" Hard to describe but you know it when you see it

and right now, its annoying, and depressing. Yeah I know some families have been waiting for years, and its only been a year so far for us. I need to be paitent.

Given the nice weather and summer slowly peeping around the corner, I guess hubby and I need to at least finish the baby room. That way there is at least one thing accomplished :-)

Here is the opening to the new Yamato series.. for those who have seen the original 1974 version will see that the remake opening is almost Identical to the original.

And yes that is Isao Sasaki singing the theme to Yamato, just like he did in 1974.

I just finished seeing the first episode of the remake of SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO...

WOW..

and yes I got all nostalgic, I choked up, and when Starsha's message to save Earth was shown.. I admit, I cried. I can't wait to get the Blu-ray in May.

I am blessed that my Husband understands my love for this series. He may not fully understand, but he knows its something I love and that is all that matters to him. He is the Kodai to my Yuki.

You all know that my love is Space Battleship Yamato, I love Yamato more than any other Sci-Fi series or genre. Yamato is a part of me. So when I saw this clip , a preview from Bandai TV. My first thought was to share it with my friends and family. My heart skipped several times when I first saw this. I hope you enjoy this clip as much as I did,and I can't wait to get the blue ray of this when it gets released.

TEXAS VOTER ID LAW

I dont want to start a huge political or debate about this or that but some of the arguments and comments make me go WTF.

Again, if I have to show ID when I drop off a prescription, when I use my Credit/Debit card, or when ever I reserve an instore pick up at Gamestop for a video game. Then In my eyes it is no problem for me to whip out my ID and Voter registration card when I go vote.

So , the year mark is approaching where we have to renew alot of stuff regarding the homestudy for adoption. Yup thats right, it's been almost a year since we started the process to adopt a child.

So far the year or prepping and waiting have been a good one and one of learning. But the last several months (since we were officially put on the waiting list) have been frustrating. A new person has been put in charge of handleing waiting parents. And she has been sending out monthly news letters regarding new awaiting couples, events etc. Which is all fine and cool. But since November she has been adding a section showing/naming couples/families that just got a new addition through the agency.

I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand half of me goes HUZZAH! new family got their wish come true. On the other hand a part of me goes "Really!?! that couple has only been on the list for 2 months! We have been on there for 4" .. You get the jist. Especially when our only criteria is .. HUMAN.. HEALTHY.. .

I am sure there are alot of other awaiting families who are feeling the same thing I am.

I told Rob that this weekend we are revamping and remaking our "Pick us for your Baby" book. as well as up date out baby blog on a regular basis. I am also going to be as agressive as possible regarding our placement.

I am just tired of waiting

Everyone who knows me either in passing or extremely personal , knows that my all time favorite series is Space Battleship Yamato. This series means alot to me. I would go into detail but I really feel I dont have to. The series came out the year I was born, it was revitalized in 2009 and made into a live action movie in 2010. Now in 2012 it gets remade and reborn for a new generation. When I first saw this trailer I actually cried. Yeah sounds silly, but then I found out fellow Yamato fans did the same thing. It justified my emotions. Same way when my Father got excited when he first saw the 2009 Star Trek trailer.

And yes I preordered the blu-ray for this.

14 years ago today I lost my beloved cat Kutari (Cootie) adoptive Mother to Bajor.

She passed away due to kidney failure and brain seizures. This was due to her being unable to walk or not wanting to walk. The reason she did not want to walk was because it hurt her when she did, due to her being declawed. That day changed my life and opinion regarding declawing a cat. It was not by my choice she was declawed. My parents had it done, I never wanted it done.

When she passed I had her cremated and placed in a cherry lacqured box (which is now in the living room). Every year I mark the anniversary of her passing by lighting a candle and renewing my vow to her and all cats who have suffered declawing never to have any cat in my house declawed unless it is for proper medical reasons.

Tonight I renew my vow to her once again.

No piece of furniture or house hold item is worth declawing a cat.

My Hair

Well it seems my hair is growing faster with the onset of spring. It is still red/auburn. Hopefully by July it will be long enough to fully braid. I know alot of guys are not into men with long hair, but I did figure out that I have become a "landmark" when I go out. Which is kinda cool :-)
